The word O-Mok-See originates from the Blackfoot Indians where they described a style of riding as “oh-mak-see pass-kan” meaning “riding big dance.” They mounted and gathered at some distance out of camp, then turned and rode together at full speed into the great camp circle, circled around it once, then rode to the center of the camp.
The first Pacific Northwest Championship O-Mok-See was launched in 1980 and has been growing every year since. The PNW O-Mok-See has fast and furious competition by top competitors from throughout the Pacific Northwest.
